A scoreboard for the one number the standings never show you: how long it has been since your team last won a football game.
NFC North Tracker follows the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. For each team it shows the current record, their position in the division, the full season schedule with every result and score, and a running count of days since their most recent win. Opening any game reveals its box score, with scoring by quarter, team statistics and the leading performers.
The number on the yellow sign counts calendar days in Central time between a team's most recent win and today. A team that won yesterday reads 1. A team that won earlier today reads 0. Preseason games are ignored, and both regular season and playoff wins count. If a team has not won yet this season, the counter looks back into previous seasons to find their last one, which is why the number can run into the hundreds in September.
While a game is being played, scores refresh about once a minute. On Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, the days the NFC North usually plays, everything refreshes every five minutes. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays it refreshes every thirty minutes. Nothing here is typed in by hand, so a final score, a change in the standings and a reset counter all appear without anyone touching the site.
Scores, schedules, box scores and the official division order all come from ESPN's public NFL data. Division position reflects the NFL's own tiebreakers rather than a simple win percentage sort, so two teams with matching records appear in the order the league ranks them. All times shown are Central, the time zone shared by three of the four teams.
